Škrabec's association is a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging scientific work by giving out scholarships in philology, linguistics and slovenian literary language. Friar Stanislav Škrabec, one of the greatest scholars of the 19. century, specifically named slovene language as the most beautiful among languages.
"The most perfect language will not save its people, if they do
not value it, if they pay it no heed. Sooner or later such a nation will have its language alienated,
crippled and suppressed, until it will finally die out and disappear completely. With its language,
its negligent people will themselves disappear from the face of the world - crushed under foreign heel.
Let us be warry not to become such a nation."
